OMPIC actually has two sites: a rather institutional site at ompic.org.ma and a site dedicated to online formalities, the most important one on a daily basis DirectInfo.ma
It goes beyond trademark information, since it also provides access, in summary form, to trade register data and company financial statements. Its competences therefore include what can be found :
- in Switzerland, at the IPI, on Zefix and on Moneyhouse for financial information
- in Quebec, at the OPIC and the Registre des Entreprises
On the other hand, the financial information part is very poorly documented. In practice, for small companies, there is no real penalty for filing accounts very late or not filing them… so don’t count on it to inform you about the solvency of a potential partner.
OMPIC is located in Rabat, but DirectInfo is located in Casablanca, next to the Technoparc. In practice, for all formalities, if you do not do them online, the easiest way is to go through the Regional Investment Centre, which centralises all business creation formalities. And that’s even in Rabat!
