All posts about AEFE

The A.E.F.E. is a public establishment, created in 1990 to monitor and coordinate French educational institutions located in foreign countries. It is attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and not to the Ministry of National Education. It is nevertheless subject to the Education Code, published by the French Ministry of Education.

It brings together establishments which, before its creation, depended on the Mission Laïque or the Alliance Française.

The Lyautey high school in Casablanca is the second largest of the 487 establishments in the world.

Many Moroccan personalities have worn out their trousers on the AEFE benches, such as Leïla Slimani (Rabat), Tahar Ben Jelloun (Tangiers), Gad Elmaleh or Jean Reno (Casablanca).

In Morocco, the AEFE has 41 schools, of which 18 are partners and 23 are directly managed.
